Roundtable discussion -- National Apprenticeship Week

Recruiting and retaining women in construction careers through apprenticeship

Join the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) at a Nov. 13, 2017, roundtable event to listen to women apprentices, apprenticeship instructors and journeyworker mentors in the trades share their successful recruiting and retention strategies to increase the number of women seeking a construction career.

The discussion will be facilitated by Karin McCabe, outreach director, McGough Construction. No registration is required to attend.

Apprenticeship Minnesota

There are more than 11,000 active apprentices pursuing great careers today in nearly 300 trades and occupations in Minnesota. Approximately seven percent of apprentices are women.

DLI’s Apprenticeship Minnesota is committed to working with community-based organizations, employer associations, employers and labor to advance and support the expansion of apprenticeship opportunities for all.
