Workers' compensation training for rehabilitation providers



2012 orientation session

The 2012 orientation session for qualified rehabilitation consultant (QRC) interns, a QRC intern supervisor from the intern's firm and newly registered rehabilitation vendors is Mon., Aug. 20, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All participants must pre-register; the cost is $35. Early registration is encouraged, because sessions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Topics include:  workers' compensation 101, rehabilitation issues, medical aspects, rehabilitation review/ethics, intern qualifying criteria, registration renewal and completion of internship. Rehabilitation update conferences 2012

Attendance at one of the rehabilitation update conference sessions is required of all qualified rehabilitation consultants (QRCs) and QRC interns. Nonattendance may be allowed only for emergency situations (Minnesota Rules 5221.1500, subp. 3a). Registered rehabilitation vendors must send at least one representative from their organization.

Training is at the University of Minnesota, Continuing Education and Conference Center, St. Paul campus. Early registration is encouraged, because sessions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The registration fee will include continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments and prepaid reserved parking.* CRC/CDMS continuing education units (CEUs) will be applied for. Topics include:  the commissioner's welcome, innovative placement techniques, ISEEK, a medical management perspective, data review/update and review of the ombudsman program.

Registration and payment -- All participants must pre-register online

Registration will be available after June 2012; each session is limited to 240 people and classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The Department of Labor and Industry reserves the right to cancel if there are not enough participants registered.
